Disabled in College will explore the many stigmas that still exist for young adults with disabilities in the college setting, what gaps in transition services leave them arriving unprepared, and practical ways for you to begin to dismantle and provide meaningful and effective support for your students with disabilities. This presentation will highlight the importance of representation and the power of peer mentoring for young adults with disabilities, and provide you the opportunity to hear directly from youth with disabilities about their college experiences in navigating disability services, requesting and receiving accommodations with professors, college campus living and social life.
